Turkish Welfare Association Inc
Establishment
The Turkish Welfare Association was established in 1969 at Marrickville under the name of Sydney Turkish Association. As a result of changes, in 1974 it was renamed the Turkish Welfare Association. The Association is managed by a President along with its comity members selected by the community.
Association Objectives and Rules
To provide assistance to the Turkish community. To provide information to those in the community who can speak little – no English. The association is managed by a management committee selected by the community. Most funding is provided by the Department of Immigration and other grants and donations. We provide a community worker and an assistant welfare worker with the aim of providing services to the community.

In the event of not being able to provide the requested assistance, we will refer you to the expert person or organisation to solve your issue.
Group Works and Seminars
Our association provides workshops and seminars on topics that are of interest to our community members. Community and Government announcements are presented to our community through our seminars. Regular workshops are held to benefit all members.
Our Newspaper
Free monthly newspaper. Addresses all news and issues that concern our community. Offers advertising opportunities to community businesses and service providers.
Functions
In an effort to bring our community together, we organize yearly functions to celebrate Turkish National Days. One in particular is the traditional Victory Ball.
