CommuniLink hosts community web sites and brings you in direct contact with the ethnic communities of New South Wales. CommuniLink informs you of what is happening in the community across the state and gives you an opportunity to participate in discussions of issues that are important to our community. Through CommuniLink, communities and the NSW Government are able to work closer than ever towards strengthening our multicultural society.

Eligibility Criteria

The CommuniLink is a web hosting service of the Community Relations Commission For a multicultural NSW set up to provide a single point of entry to ethnic communities of New South Wales. Organisations that seek this service will be required to comply with the Acceptable Use Policy Guidelines and the terms and conditions of a Co-operation Agreement. There is a great demand for this service and the Community Relations Commission For a multicultural NSW has to balance the demand with available resources. As a result, it gives no guarantee that applications will be approved.

To be eligible for web hosting , the organisation must meet the following criteria:

Legal entity

Only community organisations that are either an association under the Associations Incorporation Act, a co-operative society under the Co-operative Act, a company limited by guarantee under the Companies Code, or established by legislation are eligible. This is to ensure that it is clear who is accountable for the management and standards compliance of the website.

Not-for-profit community organisations

Only not-for-profit community organisations are eligible for free web hosting in Communilink. Therefore, individuals, for-profit companies or other organisation's and local, State and Commonwealth government departments and agencies are not eligible.

Hardware and Software Requirements

For a community organisation to successfully modify their web site it must have

  • A computer with a connection to the Internet
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or above
  • Language software (required for languages other than English)
