Behind the Success Story
The coming together of the NSW Tanzanian residents is a real success story. It took a lot of voluntary work from quite a few people to achieve this. Behind this hardwork, was the support of the Australian Federal, State and Local governments through provision of resources (personnel) and funds.
Special thanks go to Ms Julia Tobin formerly of Liverpool Migrant Resource Centre and Cheryl Webster from Anglicare. Congratulations also go to the Tanzanians who persevered all through and a special mention for Mr Ray Kaijage for his tireless effort and material contribution to the process.
Community Launch
The Tanzanian Community Association of NSW Inc was officially launched on Sunday May 30, 2004 in Sydney. Among the honorable guests was Tanzanian High Commissioner to Australia Hon. Mr Mtango.
The launch was very successful. Among the highlights was a very good fashion show and traditional dance from Tanzanian ladies and words of encouragement from the Australian goverment and the High Commissioner. |
